Energy Transportation

Energy Transportation

Solutions in the area of distributing electricity, gas and heat require regular maintenance, expansion and innovation. The current transition to new applications requires more flexibility from this infrastructure.

High Voltage: Lines and substations

IIn supervising the execution of line works, hop finds its origin. An important aspect of the energy transition is a thorough electrification of both industry, transportation and (building) heating.

In the coming decades, this trend will cause an enormous increase in the demand for electricity. In addition to decentralized generation, there are important roles for offshore wind energy and interconnection with neighboring countries.

The coming decades will see massive investments in the high-voltage grid.

Charging stations

The electrification of the vehicle fleet is increasing demand for charging infrastructure. At businesses, homes and parking lots for longer periods, AC charging stations of up to 22kW are now the preferred option.

For bridging long distances or in the absence of AC charging stations at your destination, DC fast chargers (from 50kW to 350kW) are desirable at easily accessible locations. A whole network of these last stations will be built all over Flanders.

In addition to thorough electrification of (building) heating, among other things, heat networks will also play an important role in valorizing industrial residual heat and making homes, for example, more difficult to insulate, more sustainable. Hop supports the building owners of these networks:
